Youth camps are camps that provide recreation, education or vacation for five or more campers younger than 18 without their guardians. These camps may or may not charge a fee.
- Local health departments inspect both residential and day camp facilities to ensure compliance with state regulation.
- Inspectors check for overall cleanliness, maintenance and safety.
- Inspections are conducted before the camp begins, once during camp and as needed on a complaint basis.
